Teknologi mikroskop ini menggabungkan mikroskop optik dengan mikrosfer transparan. Alat ini kemudian dijuluki Nanoskop Mikrosfer.<br><br>\u201cMikroskop optik standar hanya dapat melihat jelas obyek berukuran paling kecil sekitar satu mikrometer (0,001 milimeter). Sedangkan mikroskop canggih ini mampu melihat obyek hingga berukuran 20 kali lebih kecil atau sekitar 50 nanometer.
