Carrying out dental care early on in children is something that is often neglected by some of our society. In fact, this is important for the health and growth of teeth in children and adults. For this reason, in the framework of the Month of Oral and Dental Health (BKGN 2020) FKG IIK BW collaborates with PT. Unilever and the Kediri City Health Office held a talkshow with the theme "Maintaining Children's Dental Health during the Covid-19 Pandemic" and "Adapting New Habits to Protect Us from Covid-19" online, Monday (14/12/2020).
Anisa Ramadhani K., drg., MMRS, the first speaker explained that self-protection from viruses starts with updating information, living a healthy lifestyle and adhering to health protocols. Richa Rochmani A.T, M.M, the second resource person brought interesting material about children's dental health during the Covid-19 pandemic. The talkshow participants, mostly elementary school students and teachers, directly conveyed complaints about toothaches that children often experience, such as dental caries, treatment of cavities and how to get used to brushing teeth properly.
“Food for children is of particular concern for parents, especially foods that can damage teeth. In addition, children should also be taught to drink water after eating so that food remains on their teeth are lost. Dental care for children also needs to be done every 6 months to prevent and treat cavities. As soon as there is a complaint on a child's teeth, immediately visit the dentist to get treatment as soon as possible, ”explained Doctor Richa.
