The Diploma 3 Program in Medical Records and Health Information (RMIK) at IIK Bhakta held a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) to prepare students for their upcoming Field Work Practice (PKL), serving as a strategic step to ensure students are fully ready to face real-world professional environments. The meeting was attended by all final-year students, academic supervisors, and the PKL coordination team. The PKL will take place from December 1 to 23, 2025, during which students will be assigned to 10 partner hospitals that have long collaborated with the program.
In the presentation delivered by the PKL coordinator, it was explained that student placements will include several healthcare facilities such as RSUD Jombang, RSUD Soedomo Trenggalek, and others. This collaboration reflects the program’s strong commitment to providing practical experiences that are relevant, credible, and aligned with the needs of modern healthcare services.
The meeting also discussed in detail the division of work units where students will conduct their practice. These units include admission, filling, assembling, coding & indexing, billing, and Management Information System (MIS). Students are expected to understand the complete workflow of medical records—from patient admission, data documentation, diagnosis and procedure coding, to the secure storage of health information. This comprehensive understanding is crucial to ensure that students can work according to professional standards and the operational needs of healthcare facilities.
Beyond technical competencies, the coordination meeting emphasized the importance of soft skills, including professional ethics, discipline, maintaining patient confidentiality, and effective communication with other healthcare personnel. Students were also briefed on the need to adapt to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of each hospital, as every institution has its own system and workflow in managing medical records.
Andra Dwitama Hidayat, A.Md.Kes., S.K.M., M.P.H., Head of the D3 RMIK Program, stressed that the PKL is not merely an academic requirement but an essential phase for students to test and refine their competencies within professional healthcare settings.
With strong theoretical foundations and thorough preparation through this coordination meeting, it is expected that all PKL participants will demonstrate professional performance, gain meaningful experience, and be well-prepared to compete as competent medical record personnel in the healthcare sector.
