The Institute of Health Sciences Bhakti Wiyata (IIK Bhakta) once again demonstrates its commitment to environmental conservation through the Distribution of Ornamental Plant and Fruit Tree Seedlings. This program is held to commemorate World Tree Day on 21 November 2025 and Indonesia Tree Planting Day on 28 November 2025. It also reflects the institution’s dedication to fostering a sustainable green ecosystem in line with IIK Bhakta’s vision as a Green Campus.

The activity involved the academic community, students, and the surrounding public. Various types of ornamental plants and fruit tree seedlings were prepared for distribution, including tabebuya, red shoots, longan, mango, guava, and several other productive varieties. These selections were made based on ecological benefits, adaptability, and ease of maintenance, ensuring that the plants can thrive in both urban and rural environments.

In his remarks, a representative of IIK Bhakta emphasized that planting trees is not merely a ceremonial activity but a long-term investment in environmental sustainability. Trees play a crucial role in improving air quality, reducing the impacts of global warming, supporting biodiversity, and creating healthier living spaces. Therefore, IIK Bhakta views this initiative as a strategic effort to cultivate ecological awareness among students and the wider community.

The program was also supported by various partner organizations and local government institutions committed to advancing greening initiatives in Kediri City. This collaboration strengthens the message that environmental preservation cannot be achieved individually; it requires collective action across multiple sectors to create lasting and meaningful change.

In addition to the seedling distribution, participants received brief education on proper planting and maintenance techniques. This educational component aims to ensure that the seedlings grow successfully and provide long-term environmental benefits. IIK Bhakta hopes that each seed planted will serve as a symbol of hope for a greener and more sustainable future.

Through this initiative, IIK Bhakta reaffirms its dedication to integrating sustainability principles into campus programs and community engagement efforts. It is expected that this activity will inspire more stakeholders to take part in environmental stewardship and expand green spaces across various regions.
