The Bhakti Wiyata Institute of Health Sciences (IIK Bhakta) continues to solidify its position as a progressive and visionary higher education institution. Following its recent achievement of an “Excellent” accreditation status from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), IIK Bhakta has set its sights on the next strategic milestone: becoming a leading health sciences institute in Southeast Asia under the banner of “Bhakta Goes Global.”

The attainment of the “Excellent” accreditation mark represents a historic milestone for IIK Bhakta. In his remarks, the Rector of IIK Bhakta, Prof. Dr. apt. Muhamad Zainuddin, emphasized that this success is the result of collective effort. “This ”˜Excellent”™ status is not merely the result of the leadership”™s performance, but a reflection of the hard work and collaboration of the entire academic community””faculty, staff, and students alike,” he stated.

To sustain and advance this achievement, IIK Bhakta””through its Planning and Development Agency (BPP)””organized a strategic event: the socialization and signing of faculty performance contracts. Held on Monday, June 10, 2025, on the 4th floor of the Graha Building, the event was attended by structural officials, heads of study programs, and all permanent faculty members.

The performance contracts contain agreements outlining key performance indicators (KPIs) and activity benchmarks that each lecturer is expected to fulfill within a specified period. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that every academic staff member plays a meaningful role in the realization of the institution”™s five-year strategic vision.

Prof. Zainuddin highlighted that the institution”™s direction has been clearly mapped out. “We have charted our roadmap. Within the next five years, we aim to become a leading health sciences institution in Southeast Asia. This is not merely a slogan, but a serious commitment that demands synergy and dedication from all stakeholders,” he said.

He further elaborated that the performance contract initiative is a formal accountability mechanism. “Today”™s event represents a legal-formal step””a contract between faculty and their respective programs, programs with their deans, and deans with the rector. This hierarchical commitment system ensures accountability and transparency in our performance,” he concluded.

Fery Eko Pujiono, M.Si., Deputy Head of the Planning and Development Agency, added that all institutional programs have been aligned with IIK Bhakta”™s long-term strategic goals. “We have structured every academic and operational program””spanning teaching, research, community service, and institutional development””to be in line with our internationalization strategy,” he explained.

Since assuming leadership of IIK Bhakta in April 2017, Prof. Zainuddin””widely recognized as a senior figure in Indonesia”™s higher education landscape””has led the institution through a series of transformative milestones. Under his leadership, IIK Bhakta has gained national recognition through improved program accreditation, competitive research grants, and an enhanced institutional reputation among health education institutions across the country.

Now, with the spirit of “Bhakta Goes Global,” the institution is looking beyond national borders. The internationalization agenda includes expanding cross-border research collaboration, developing double-degree programs and student exchanges, participating in global academic forums, and increasing scientific publications in reputable international journals.

This commitment is not just aspirational””it has been formalized into actionable and measurable work plans. With strong synergy between leadership, faculty, and the broader academic community, IIK Bhakta is confident in its vision of becoming a center of health sciences excellence, recognized not only nationally but also across the Southeast Asian region and beyond.
