The Institute of Health Sciences Bhakti Wiyata (IIK Bhakta) once again demonstrates its role as an educational institution closely connected to the community through its concrete support for the MAPAN Rice ATM Program.
This initiative, launched by the Kediri City Government, aims to assist families in the DTSEN 1–3 decile category by providing rice through an automated machine-based distribution system. The program was officially inaugurated on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Semampir Village by the Mayor of Kediri, Vinanda Prameswati, S.H.,M.Kn.
During the launch, the government announced that the MAPAN Rice ATM Program has now reached 46 villages across Kediri City. The presence of these automated rice machines serves as an effort to ease the economic burden on residents through a more structured and continuous food assistance system. A total of 3,390 families were confirmed as beneficiaries of the program. In Semampir Village alone, 107 families received symbolic rice assistance during the initial distribution phase.
As part of its commitment to community welfare, IIK Bhakta contributed two units of Rice ATM machines through its Corporate Social Responsibility program. This support reflects the institution’s dedication to strengthening local food security and supporting social programs implemented by the Kediri City Government. The additional machines are expected to accelerate and expand rice distribution, ensuring that more families can receive aid efficiently.
IIK Bhakta’s commitment extends beyond the provision of assistance. The institution continues to take part in social initiatives that have direct and meaningful impacts on the community. Through ongoing collaboration with the local government, IIK Bhakta aims to contribute to creating a healthier, more resilient, and more prosperous environment for the people of Kediri. Efforts like this help build strong connections between higher education institutions and the needs of society.
The MAPAN Rice ATM Program provides each beneficiary family with an initial allocation of ten liters of rice for the November–December period. This automated distribution mechanism is designed to ensure a process that is orderly, fair, and transparent. With support from various stakeholders, including academic institutions, the program stands as a concrete example of synergy between government initiatives and community care.
IIK Bhakta remains committed not only as a health education institution but also as a social partner that strives to deliver broad benefits to the community. Through this initiative, IIK Bhakta hopes to strengthen food security and contribute meaningfully to social development in Kediri City.
