The Institute of Health Sciences Bhakti Wiyata (IIK Bhakta) Kediri, in collaboration with the Kaimana Regency Government, has implemented a full scholarship program for the youth of Kaimana pursuing higher education in health sciences. As part of public accountability and program quality improvement, a monitoring and evaluation (monev) activity was carried out to assess the program's implementation.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Kaimana Regency Government and IIK Bhakta conducted a monitoring and evaluation of the progress made by scholarship recipients from Kaimana.

In 2024, the Kaimana Regency Government sent 68 young individuals from the region to continue their education at IIK Bhakta Kediri. These students are enrolled in various programs, including Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Nutrition, Diploma in Medical Record and Health Information, and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology.

The partnership between the two parties has been running for one and a half years. Both institutions are carrying out monitoring and evaluation activities to track the students' academic development.

According to drg. Dzanuar, Vice Rector III of IIK Bhakta, this monitoring and evaluation effort serves as evidence of IIK Bhakta’s commitment to improving education in Eastern Indonesia, particularly in West Papua.“This Monev is a form of IIK Bhakta's commitment to supporting the advancement of West Papua.”

Meanwhile, Yulius Sampouw, S.Kep., MM, and Chinta Mufara, S.Kep., Ns., M.Epid, representing the Kaimana Regency Government, expressed their gratitude and hope that the students from Kaimana can graduate on time.“If everything goes according to plan, they will graduate next year and return to Kaimana to contribute to the region’s development.”

The collaboration between the Kaimana Regency Government and IIK Bhakta is not just about providing scholarships—it is a concrete form of long-term investment in the region’s younger generation. With consistent and comprehensive monitoring and evaluation, the program is expected to continue evolving and making a significant impact on the quality of health services in West Papua.
