A total of 12 IIK Bhakta D3 Midwifery students took part in the Caping Day event in the Earth room, Thursday (27/05/2024). Capping Day is held ceremonially. Students are required to take part in the student pledge ceremony, followed by installing a pin and obstetric head covering (cap) and installing a name tag.The purpose of holding Caping Day activities is to take new students' promises regarding ethics and their profession as health workers.Later they will learn to apply the knowledge they gained at Aura Syifa Hospital for two weeks. In this event, students were also invited to remember the international nurse figure from Italy, Florence Nightingale. This figure, also known as The Lady With The Lamp, is known for her courage in collecting victims of the Crimean War on the Crimean Peninsula, Russia.Due to his contribution in Crimea, modern nursing standards were successfully established. For the rest of her life, Florence Nightingale continued to campaign for improved sanitary conditions, both in military and civilian hospitals. The session remembering Florence Nightingale was held as a form of respect for her legacy and the great influence she had on the nursing/midwifery profession. Through this session, students are also expected to be able to know and care more about the world of health they will be involved in in the future.Head of the IIK Bhakta D3 Midwifery Study Program, Mrs. Umi Anita, hopes that students will gain a lot of knowledge after undergoing PKL later. "We hope that our students can apply the knowledge gained while on campus, of course in accordance with the code of ethics that is firmly adhered to," he hoped.
