Dean's greeting
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and may God’s blessings and mercy be upon us all. Greetings of peace, Om Swastiastu, Namo Buddhaya, and warm regards to all.
First and foremost, let us offer our deepest gratitude to the Almighty God. It is by His grace and blessings that we are able to continue in the spirit of scholarship, collaboration, and a shared vision for advancing the field of pharmacy.
I am honored—and deeply committed—to leading our faculty toward our shared aspirations, as reflected in our vision:
"To become a leading Faculty of Pharmacy in the ASEAN region."
This vision is not merely a slogan, but a guiding compass that calls upon all of us—faculty members, students, administrative staff, and alumni—to keep innovating, competing, and adapting to global developments.
Today, we live in an era of rapid scientific and technological advancement, especially in digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI). The world of healthcare, including pharmacy, is undergoing a significant transformation. We cannot ignore the fact that AI can now read lab results, chatbots can explain drug interactions, and digital applications can even suggest therapeutic regimens.
However, we must remember: technology is not a replacement for the pharmacy profession, but a tool that enhances its value—if we are prepared. We must equip ourselves and our students with digital literacy and ethical use of AI, the ability to interpret evidence-based health data, and most importantly, a human touch and sense of professional responsibility that no algorithm can replicate.
A pharmacist is not merely someone who calculates doses or designs regimens—they are also patient advisors, guardians of therapeutic safety, and pillars of integrity within the healthcare system.
At the Faculty of Pharmacy, IIK Bhakta, we have begun integrating digital technology into our curriculum, including topics such as digital pharmacy, big data analysis, and telepharmacy. We promote research that bridges pharmacy with AI, and foster students who are not only academically proficient but also digitally competent, skilled in clinical communication, and guided by ethical leadership rooted in the PLUS culture:
Prime in service,
Lofty in character,
Unparalleled in achievements,
Sustainable in unity.
These are concrete steps toward becoming a truly leading Faculty of Pharmacy in ASEAN.
To the entire academic community: let us unite in the spirit of innovation and collaboration. Do not fear change—master it—so we don’t merely survive, but become drivers of the future of pharmacy in Indonesia, and beyond. We are a generation of pharmacists who not only understand science, but who face the times with wisdom, courage, and competence.
Peace be upon you, stay healthy, and keep your spirits high.
Dr. apt. Anang Setyo Wiyono, M.Farm.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy
