The COVID-19 pandemic that has been happening in Indonesia since last March has not yet ended, while activities must continue. Significant efforts to respond to the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) continue to be made by IIK Bhakti Wiyata through various collaborations from various elements, both from the academic community to cooperation with the government and the surrounding community. The first health campus in Indonesia, which has been recognized by MURI and is ready to become a World Class University, is preparing effective strategies to adapt to the new normal, including:
To adapt to the new normal era, IIK Bhakti Wiyata has prepared a blended learning system. "This blended learning is a combination of online and face-to-face lectures in physical classrooms," said apt. Ninis Yuliati, S.Si., M.Kes as the Academic Director of IIK Bhakti Wiyata. With this blended learning concept, it is hoped that IIK Bhakti Wiyata can maintain the quality of its graduates and later improve their achievements, after previously IIK Bhakti Wiyata successfully entered the Top 6% of the Best Universities out of 4600 universities and entered the "Very Good" cluster with a ranking of 113 in the category of Community Service Performance by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and entered the top 5 categories of Campus for Foreign Students.
In addition to these strategies, IIK Bhakti Wiyata also equips its academic community with COVID-19 health and safety protocol guidelines that can be found in every corner of the campus. The forms of readiness of IIK BW as a campus adapting to the new normal include:
The use of Thermal Cameras to Measure Body Temperature
The use of this tool is carried out simultaneously during the attendance of employees and lecturers of IIK Bhakti Wiyata. A total of 12 thermal camera units for attendance have been distributed at four points and each point is filled with 3 camera units, including on the mezzanine floor, Graha IIK Building, and Lobby on the 1st floor of the Adipadma Building. Meanwhile, there are 4 units of cameras that can detect the temperature of many people and are spread across the 1st floor of the Adipadma Building, mezzanine floor, Graha IIK Building, and RSGM IIK BW. Students can also use this tool before entering the campus area.
One Way System
To regulate access in and out of the campus and to avoid crowding, IIK BW is ready to implement a "One Way System" at IIK Bhakti Wiyata.
Work From Home for Pregnant Women
The implementation of Work From Home for pregnant employees and lecturers. This is to maintain the health of pregnant women and their unborn babies.
Hand Washing Facilities in Every Campus Area
To maintain hand hygiene from germs and bacteria, IIK BW also provides hand washing facilities equipped with antibacterial soap in every campus area that is frequently passed through, such as the Adipadma Food Court, classrooms, Graha IIK Building, and others.
Regular Disinfection Spraying
Disinfectant spraying is also carried out regularly to minimize airborne bacteria and germs. This prevention is carried out periodically every day by IIK Bhakti Wiyata cleaning personnel.
Mandatory Mask Area
IIK BW requires everyone entering the campus area to wear a mask, if necessary, equipped with a face shield to increase the level of safety.
Health protocols such as physical distancing in classes and laboratories are also strictly enforced. It is hoped that with these health protocols, the entire academic community can continue to remember health protocols, then get used to them and make them a culture. Hopefully, various health protocols that have been implemented at IIK Bhakti Wiyata can be implemented properly and can reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Kediri. Let's continue to remind and take care of each other. Together we can overcome this pandemic.
